Statement of Purpose
The Life in Waves: Empowerment Support Group is a mutual support system of women, including those who identify as female or non-binary, in New Jersey who have experienced emotional, physical or sexual intimidation or abuse in the workplace. Life in Waves acknowledges that we can work together to face our common challenges, build confidence,
develop ways to cope with intimidation and abuse, and improve our overall mental health by sharing our stories to inspire hope. This group provides a safe space for members to share their experiences to empower themselves and others in both their personal and professional lives.
Life in Waves is affiliated with the Mental Health Association in Atlantic County, a nonprofit organization that provides peer-led support groups at no cost to members. Life in Waves is not affiliated with any individual workplace and does not engage in any controversy nor engage in discussion about any on-going legal matters. All funding for Life in Waves is provided by the Mental Health Association in Atlantic County.
We understand that life for our members goes in waves, and our main purpose is to help them address and navigate the highs and lows of life as working women. We empower ourselves and others through following our principles and guidelines. We welcome all members who seek mutual support with encouragement and understanding.
